Neuro linguistic programing stays for a set of techniques for "programming people's mind using words". It was created by modelling successful people and by pulling together different "techniques that work". As one of the "successful people" used in the modelling process was Milton Erickson, the founder of modern conversational hypnosis, the modern Hypnotic techniques became part of Neuro linguistic programing. However it is not a very big part as there is much more in persuasion and social influence techniques then just using Hypnotic scripts used to achieve hypnotic persuasion, even if instant hypnotic induction is very dramatic and impressive. If you are serious about learning NLP, be ready to change. What was important yesterday, might become funny tomorrow. Some people would forget about problems they used to have - often forget to such an extent that they wouldn't believe you when you remind them. Lets talk about some applications of NLP. There are countless areas where modern persuasion and social influence techniques are used. As a general rule, it is easy to manipulate people using words. As the result, the Mental Manipulation methods and even rapid hypnosis induction techniques are now widely (should I say - wildly?) accepted as everyday practice. Unfortunately, using the covert hypnosis and other tools from the neuro linguistic programing toolkit is often used "against" us - think about nlp in sales, mass media, advertising manipulation and politics - all this is the fact of our everyday life. Tutorials on this site will provide you with the knowledge you need to recognize and understand these coersive persuasion so that you will be able to stay alert or to come up with your own hypnosis induction scripts in order to make - if you have to - your persuasion tactic much more efficient. However Neuro Linguistics does not necessarily mean something bad.
